Amazon’s Prime Video is spreading the holiday cheer this Giving Tuesday with an exciting and heartwarming initiative in collaboration with their upcoming movie, Candy Cane Lane. Get ready to immerse yourself in the magical spirit of the season as Prime Video partners with the American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity to bring joy and support to communities across the nation.
Candy Cane Lane, a delightful holiday comedy directed by Reginald Hudlin and featuring a star-studded cast including Eddie Murphy and Tracee Ellis Ross, has inspired Prime Video to launch two impactful charitable campaigns. First, in Los Angeles, a Candy Cane Lane-themed blood drive will come to life on Giving Tuesday in partnership with the American Red Cross. Additionally, Prime Video will join forces with Habitat for Humanity to transform a selected neighborhood into a winter wonderland, reminiscent of the film’s enchanting setting.
The highlight of this initiative is the opportunity for donors to win one of 12 extraordinary prize packages. From December 1 to December 31, individuals who generously contribute blood, platelets, or plasma will have a chance to win amazing prizes, including a $1,000 Amazon.com gift card and a 65-inch Omni QLED Series smart TV courtesy of Fire TV. What a wonderful way to give and receive during the holiday season!
To kick-start the festivities, a Candy Cane Lane-themed blood drive will take place on November 28, Giving Tuesday, at The Culver Theater in Culver City. As you step into the theater, be prepared to be transported into a whimsical wonderland, meticulously designed with authentic props and set decor from the movie. Balsam Hill® will provide the enchanting trees, garlands, and dazzling baubles, creating a truly magical atmosphere. Inside, guests will be treated to a festive extravaganza filled with holiday activities, captivating photo opportunities, and delightful entertainment.
Darren Irby, Executive Director of Brand Partnerships for the American Red Cross, expresses his excitement, saying, “We are thrilled to be teaming up with Prime Video this holiday season. With Candy Cane Lane lighting up screens and communities across the country coming together to give blood, we’re thrilled to know new lifesaving family holiday traditions are being created. The Red Cross is thrilled to not only be granting holiday wishes but also delivering the gift of life to patients in need.”
Director Reginald Hudlin also shares his gratitude for the support of Habitat for Humanity and the American Red Cross, stating, “So grateful for all that Habitat for Humanity and the Red Cross do to help people in need. We’re proud to share the amazing work of our production designers and set decorators from the film and see them get put to such good use!”
